Apple Treats

| 1 medium to large apple |
Cooking oats |
| Molasses |
Chopped carrots |
| Chopped carrots |
Crushed bran flakes |
1. Hollow out the apple with a peeler as much as you
can, scooping out the insides
2. Pour some oats into it, then add molasses.
3. Stir the oats and molasses well.
4. Put some carrots on top and push them down, squeezing a bit
of molasses out on top, and add the crushed bran flakes.
5. Put in a freezable bag and freeze.
6. Take out when ready and warm up before feeding.
I just made this up
tonight, and I think horses would like it.
Carrot Cake

| 1 plastic bowl (Cool Whip container fine) |
2-3 large carrots chopped lengthwise |
| 1 large apple chopped lengthwise |
Molasses |
| Brown sugar |
White sugar cubes |
1. Take your carrots and put them in the bottom of your bowl.
2. Make the apple slices the next layer, and then put one more
layer of carrots.
3. Pack the top with brown sugar.
4. Take your molasses and drizzle it over the top.
5. Put the sugar cubes on top of the molasses.
My horses love this
for any occasion, but it's too much for just one horse.
Grain Treats

| 2 cups oats |
1 cup molasses |
| 1/2 finely chopped apple |
1/4 cup water |
| Carrot (optional) |
|
1. Mix everything together until slightly sticky.
2. Score into sections and bake in the oven at 425 degrees for
about 10 min.
3. Leave the grain in the oven until cool.

Horse Cookies

| 1 cup oatmeal |
1 cup flour |
| 1/4 cup molasses |
1/4 cup water |
| 2 carrots or an apple |
Pinch of salt |
| 1 tablespoon sugar |

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Roughly chop carrots or apple and mix with dry ingredients
3. Stir in all wet ingredients and then fill a baking sheet.
4. Score into sections and spray with a bit of oil.
5. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown.
Molasses Muffins

| 1/4 cup molasses |
1/4 cup water |
| 2 cups sweet feed (or your reg. horse feed) |
1 cup original / plain Quaker oats |
| 1 handful bran |

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add water and molasses.
3. Mix until all grain is covered in molasses
4. Spoon the mixture into the well-greased mini muffin tins.
5. Bake for 45 min. or until the center of the muffins is firm.
Showtime loves these
and they last for quite a while. Don't feed too many to your
horses though. Also DON'T add peanut butter, because if you
put in too much, it will clog your horse's intestines.

| 1/2 cup finely chopped apple |
2-3 cups finely chopped carrots |
| 1 cup oats |
1/2 cup sugar cubes |
| 1/2 cup molasses |

1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and serve.
My pony, Spike, LOVES
this! It makes a great treat for your pony after a show, but
don't feed more than about one cup at a time.
