Leah:
I've read pretty much all the books in the Thoroughbred series
— I've only missed three or four. They're all really excellent
books. All are fairly easy reads and usually take only about
three days to finish. The stories are usually really good and
exciting to follow. However, since they've been written by several
different authors, there are some flaws in the books. If you
don't mind tiny little details being messed up, you'll love
these. The series is mainly about racing, but there is some
eventing thrown into the mix as well. I found books 1-24 to
be the best reads. I've been reading these books since I was
11 and I'm still reading them at 15!

I have almost all of this series and I liked all of them. Each
one is different though some are similar. They are pretty easy
to read and the vocabulary isn't fantastic — I can read
one in about 2 hours — but they are the ultimate horse
books, never straying from horses. I also find similarities
between myself and the characters; they are very easy to connect
with. Perfect for the level stated (8-12) but older might get
bored with them.
Michelle:
Love them! I only have a few negative points. They are written
by different authors, so in some books, the character will never
have raced the Triple Crown, but in another, she'll have raced
the Derby. Sometimes the characters' physical appearances are
changed, and the covers aren't that great, but the books themselves
are EXCELLENT!
