Leadmare is completely copyrighted, and nothing
may be copied in any form without express written
permission, unless specifically stated otherwise.
This includes, but is NOT limited to articles, ideas,
graphics, layouts, HTML coding, style sheets, and
scripts. Please visit this website to learn more
about copyright protection.
WHY DO WE HAVE COPYRIGHTS?
Copyrights are to prevent people
(individuals or companies) from stealing original
work, such as artwork, stories, or coding, and taking
it as their own. Doing so is illegal, and considered
plagiarism. If you take something without asking
and do not credit the owner, you are not only being
dishonest but, if the owner so chooses, legal action
could be taken against you. Thus, it's important
to always ask for permission to reprint materials,
and follow all instructions provided by that person.
There's nothing more aggravating then to spend hours
working on something, only to have it rudely taken
from you without a line of acknowledgement. The
person will eventually find out, so be considerate
from the start by respecting all copyright laws.
HOW CAN I REPRINT YOUR
INFORMATION OR GRAPHICS?
The first step is to ask us politely.
Be sure to include your full email address, the
URL of the page on which you'd like to reprint the
materials, and the titles of the articles, photos,
or pages you would like to reprint. All reprinted
features must be attributed to Leadmare, through
a text or banner link on the same page as the feature.
Quotes from articles are permitted, so long as they
are kept to a reasonable length, and proper credit
is provided.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I FIND
A SITE THAT HAS COPIED YOU?
Do not take any action of your
own. Rather, send us the URL of the site and we
will investigate. Most cases are not serious enough
to warrant legal action, especially if the site
in question is a small, personal one. However, if
need be, an email will be sent to the site requesting
that all copied materials be removed in light of
copyright laws or credit be given for the materials.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF SOMETHING
ON YOUR SITE BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE?
We take care to respect other sites,
but sometimes a feature might slip by. If you find
something that you've seen on another site and isn't
properly credited, please let us know immediately
so that we can either acknowledge the author or
remove it from our site.
