Andalusian
The elegant Spanish Andalusian is reknowned for performing
the difficult movements of the haute école. 15-15.2
h and predominantly grey or bay.
Arabian
The oldest and purest of horse breeds, the Arabian boasts
more than a dished profile and up-flung tail. 14.2-15 h and
chestnut, grey, bay, or black.
Clydesdale
These famous draught horses can be seen everywhere from televised
Budweiser commercials to pulling carriages at the fair. 16.2-over
17.2 h and mostly bay.
Miniature (or Falabella)
They're just like regular horses, but miniature! These cuties
used to work in the Appalachian coal mines, but now they make
excellent pets. Under 34".
Morgan
Traced back to a single stallion, the Morgan is recognized
for great strength in a small frame. 14.1-15.2h and bay, chestnut,
brown, or black.
Mule
A cross between the donkey and horse, mules may live up to
their stubborn reputation, but they're also very gentle, intelligent,
and versatile.
Shetland Pony
This sweet, sure-footed island pony has become the strongest
equine relative to its size alive today. 9.3-10.2 h and most
colors.
